Silverio House
Silverio House
Founded in 1921 by Narciso González as a store selling ropes, sacks, burlap, stable items, canvas, linen, etc. The business remained open throughout the Civil War, of which there are still visible traces on the counter, an original piece of Spanish walnut.
...Narciso continued to run the business until his death in the sixties, at which time his daughter, Ángeles González Arasti, took the reins, abandoning some items and incorporating others, in accordance with the evolution of living habits. Ángeles' children continued with the business, and after them it passed into the hands of Silverio Carballar, who began as an employee of Ángeles González. Silverio created the Casa Silverio firm, introducing the traditional business, with all its essence, into the 21st century, enhancing its presence on social networks and online sales platforms, thereby expanding the market area since, currently, Casa Silverio sells no. only to all of Spain but also to all of Europe, South America and the United States.
Today, decoration items have an increasingly important presence in the business and decorators and interior designers highlight Casa Silverio as a reference in the decoration sector. However, the store continues to sell many of the items with which Narciso started the business, such as ropes and cords, burlap, canvas and linen, which gives it the character of a traditional neighborhood store, and makes Casa Silverio an exceptional example of how the fusion of the traditional and the digital predicts another centenary future.
