Francisca Gómez and Jacinto Pinto opened the premises under the name "Wine Store", since they sold "skin" wine from Valdepeñas. Over time, it acquired several nicknames: "Taberna del Guitarrista", due to the fans of Vicente Gómez, a musician and tavern keeper who delighted customers with his music in the 1930s, "El Comunista", for having customers from the neighboring Casa del Town that held their gatherings there, or "Casa Ángel", named after the father of the current owner, also called Ángel, the fourth generation of Miguel's family. Among the parishioners, the brothers Manuel and Antonio Machado, Azorín, Alberti or Jacinto Benavente stand out
