The only one
SINCE 1905 The promotion of companionship in its statutes. La Única began its history in 1905. Its first President would be Narciso Moreno y Martínez, although the same year it was founded he left his position to Matías Fernández, and he, the following year, to Enrique López. .
...It installed its first registered office in Calle de Pontejos, proposing in its statutes not only the defense of interests but also the promotion of mutuality and camaraderie. He would fight in the following years, among many other campaigns, for the disappearance of the existing monopolies, for the reduction in telephone rates for merchants and for the rationalization of the municipal tax on weights and measures. He would soon begin to publish a magazine with the same name as the Society, with which he would publicize its activities, and which would become a reference within the sector; In fact, already in the National Assembly of merchants and grocers convened in Madrid in 1908, it was agreed to declare the magazine La Única the official organ of the Spanish Trade Union League. In 1909 it already had more than a thousand members. The Society was refounded in 1977, becoming an Association thanks to the Law on Freedom of Association promulgated that same year. La Única, the Madrid Association of Food and Distribution Entrepreneurs, currently continues the work that it began more than a century ago: to be the voice that represents the local food trade and that supports its associates in the comprehensive management of their businesses
