Ibiza Municipal Market
Ibiza Municipal Market
The Ibiza Market was built in 1954 , and was inaugurated on June 7 of that same year. In the midst of the dictatorship, that year there was an economic improvement and with it the appearance of the first supermarkets, somewhat different from the traditional food markets.
...At that time, the market consisted of three floors with very small premises, but with slight changes to the usual ones of that time. The top floor did not have electrical installation, since the giant skylight on the roof illuminated the interior of the market with natural light.
The last renovation was carried out in 2009 . This reform made the market a more accessible space for people with reduced mobility, thus offering essential facilities such as: escalators, elevators, Braille signs, pictograms, etc.
Currently, the market is a responsible space with health measures and environmental care . All recycling adapted to environmental regulations is carried out, such as fish remains, tallow, used oil... making its environment a safer and more committed space. On the other hand, they have made a leap into the digital world with the creation of their own website, with a presence on social networks and the opening of their online store.
