...Manuel Pardo y Bartolini, since his widow, Romualda Puertas y Morellón, requested the continuity of the business in April 1880. Since Romualda did not have the title of Pharmacy, and the ordinance of the time did not allowed her to run the pharmacy herself, she had to appoint a regent, José Ubeda y Corral, who was succeeded by the four generations of the Martínez family, to finally pass to María Esteban Jiménez.
