Luis Mira, a confectioner from Jijona, began his business selling nougat in 1842 in a stall in the Plaza Mayor. During the reign of Isabel II, he became a supplier to the Royal Household. The sixth generation of the Mira family continues to run the establishment.

In order to preserve the aesthetics of the mid-19th century, it has been respected as a pastry shop and has not wanted to enter the fashion of cafeteria-confectionery.

It is the only nougat factory from the mid-19th century, and today it is one of the most significant nougat shops in Europe. Their fame is such that they ship their products inside and outside of Spain, but not only nougat, they also sell all kinds of extraordinary sweets for the palate.
