ECUADORIAN GASTRONOMY WEEK IN MADRID: A MEETING OF FLAVORS, CULTURE AND TRADITION
2024/12/04
Madrid is preparing to host Ecuadorian Gastronomy Week , an event that promises to delight palates with the culinary richness and diversity of Ecuador. From December 9 to 13 , this celebration will highlight not only the traditional flavors of the Andean country, but also its capacity for innovation when integrated with quality Spanish ingredients.
The official opening will take place on December 9 at the Consulate General of Ecuador in Madrid (Calle de Alenza, 1), marking the beginning of a program full of activities around the Day of Ecuadorian Gastronomy, which is commemorated on December 12 .
Raíz Ecuador: the driving force behind this initiative
The event is organized by the Association of Ecuadorian Entrepreneurs, Chefs and Hoteliers in Spain , under the Raíz Ecuador label, which has established itself as a benchmark in the promotion of Ecuadorian gastronomy, culture and products in the Community of Madrid. This organization works as a bridge between Ecuador and Spain, highlighting the values of a cuisine that combines tradition and innovation.
Raíz Ecuador promotes projects that not only exalt the culinary wealth of the country, but also strengthen the connection between Ecuadorian entrepreneurs and hoteliers with the Madrid public. Thanks to this partnership, Ecuadorian gastronomy occupies an increasingly prominent place in the cultural and gastronomic panorama of Madrid.
Launch of the Ecuadorian restaurant route in Madrid
As part of the celebration, a route that brings together the best Ecuadorian restaurants in the capital will be launched here at Todo Está en Madrid on December 9. This project, carried out in collaboration with the Department of Commerce and Entrepreneurship of the Madrid City Council and the Embassy of Ecuador in Spain , will allow Madrid residents and visitors to explore an accessible guide of establishments that offer the best of Ecuadorian cuisine, from traditional dishes to contemporary interpretations.
Among the featured restaurants are Akipan, Ayawaskha Gastro, El Manaba, La Gata Manaba and Mitad del Mundo, among others. This route reinforces Ecuador's position as a gastronomic powerhouse in the capital.
Demonstrations, tastings and much more
During the Week of Ecuadorian Gastronomy, attendees will be able to enjoy culinary demonstrations and tastings of iconic dishes such as ceviche or encebollado. The proposal goes beyond tradition, integrating local Spanish ingredients such as olive oil, seasonal vegetables and Iberian sausages, to show how Ecuadorian cuisine can be reinvented and adapted, without losing its essence.
In addition, the story behind each dish will be explored, highlighting cultural values and the deep link between cuisine and Ecuadorian identity.
An event to taste and connect cultures
Ecuadorian Gastronomy Week is not only a delight for the senses, but also an invitation to discover how Ecuador's culinary richness finds a unique space in the diversity of Madrid. With unique activities, routes and flavours, this event promises to be an unforgettable experience that unites two worlds through cuisine.
