THE MADRID CHICKPEA ROUTE WITH WINES FROM MADRID CELEBRATES ITS SIXTH EDITION

From January 10 to 26, the sixth edition of the Madrid Chickpea Route with Madrid Wines will be held, a gastronomic event that will tour various municipalities in the Community of Madrid.

The participating restaurants will offer a special weekend menu in which one of the main dishes will be made with chickpeas from the Garbancera Madrileña , accompanied by a wine from the DO Vinos de Madrid .

The Garbancera Madrileña chickpea is a large native variety that, after cooking, more than doubles its size and maintains a smooth skin and a buttery interior, making it the perfect accompaniment to traditional Madrid stew.

In total, more than 30 municipalities in the Community of Madrid will participate in the route, including Sevilla la Nueva, San Martín de Valdeiglesias, Navalcarnero, Villamantilla, Quijorna, Villaviciosa de Odón, Boadilla del Monte and many more.

Diners who wish to participate can register voluntarily through a mobile application . This platform will allow them to rate both the quality of the chickpea dish and the wine tasted. In addition, participants will be able to enter the prize draw , which will take place between January 27 and 31.
