MADRID HOTEL INDUSTRY RECOGNIZES 21 NEW PLATINUM MEMBERS AT THE 4TH PLATINUM AWARDS
2025/10/01
The Cibeles Palace's Glass Gallery became the setting for a celebration for the fourth edition of the Madrid Platinum Hospitality Awards , a tribute to the establishments that have been part of the association for more than 25 years and have shaped the capital's gastronomic identity.
In this edition, 21 new Platinum Members were added, including emblematic venues such as Docamar, La Castela, Bodega La Ardosa, Los Gatos, Café de los Austrias and Casa Manolo , who received recognition for their career and loyalty.
The event, hosted by Elena León , was attended by the president of Hostelería Madrid, José Antonio Aparicio , who highlighted the plight of small businesses in the sector: “92% of Madrid's hospitality businesses have fewer than five employees, and in the last two years alone, 3,100 businesses have closed. Therefore, supporting them and giving them the tools to survive is more necessary than ever.”
The Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida , also participated in the gala, emphasizing that "Madrid is today the city with the best food in the world," highlighting the contribution of bars, taverns, and restaurants to the city's dynamism.
Special awards and new categories
The ceremony also included the presentation of the Green Platinum Awards , which recognize projects committed to sustainability. This year, the winners were Macadamia Catering and Mendrugo , two examples of responsible culinary innovation.
In addition, the Mahou San Miguel Group received the Mahou Platino 2025 award for its historic support of Madrid's hospitality industry.
Culture and gastronomy, united
One of the most significant announcements of the evening was the agreement between Madrid Hospitality and the Department of Culture, Tourism and Sport of the City Council , which will allow Platino restaurants and other businesses to join as "Establishments Committed to Culture" , becoming showcases of the city's cultural life.
The gala concluded with a collective toast and a heartfelt message: an invitation to always return to those bars, cafes, and restaurants that are part of Madrid's memory and heart.
