Hadrian's House
Hadrian's House
It is a refined restaurant, with a family atmosphere and Galician to the hilt, with lifelong waiters, also Galician.
This corner of the Bellas Vistas area is dominated by a display case in which all the goodness that the market offers that day is displayed, and at the entrance, there is a small counter where enormous crabs rest ready to be cooked.
...In the dining room, with a traditional aesthetic in exposed stone with stained glass windows and photos on the walls in which Ferrán Adriá or Martín Berasategui appear, Adriano, the patron, walks around the tables worrying that his parishioners: Families, groups of friends, couples of a lifetime, leave satisfied.
As soon as we sit down, they serve us a small cup of consommé, a plate of olives and some potato aioli.
The menu, quite extensive, shows a plethora of seafood and fish in different preparations. Among the starters, all kinds of dishes appear, from demodé asparagus with two sauces to monkfish and lobster salpicón. But the ones that triumph here are the Galician-style octopus, the clams a la marinera, the rice with lobster... But also the lamprey in season. The crabs arrive well filled with the cart served to our liking, that is, naturally, without any seasoning. The shrimps are marvelous in size although a little more cooked than we like and the razor clams are small but fine and tasty. Good products that would benefit from tighter cooking points.
Don't expect to find many options on the wine list, but an Albariño from Lusco fits the bill perfectly.
