Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum
The Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum is the public institution that houses in the Villahermosa Palace one of the most important pictorial collections in the world with almost 900 works of art collected over seven decades by the Thyssen-Bornemisza family
...The Museum, for the fulfillment of all its artistic and cultural function, is managed by the Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza FSP , a non-profit public foundation, whose purpose is the conservation, study, public exhibition and dissemination of the collection.
The Spanish State acquired ownership of the Collection in 1993, thus giving rise to the so-called Triangle of Art in the Paseo del Prado, a museum area in Madrid that concentrates the most important pictorial heritage in Spain and one of the most important in the world. Since 2004, the Foundation has also exhibited works on loan from the private Collection of Baroness Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza.
