The Eastern
The history of the La Oriental pastry shop goes back more than 50 years , but the most beautiful thing is that it is a story with names and surnames
...Grandfather Samuel was born in a small town in Segovia with few inhabitants and into a large family: there were many brothers. The pastry tradition was in his blood, and his father had an oven where he made buns and pastries that were made at that time.
In 1950 Samuel decided to try his luck in Madrid and moved to the capital. Shortly after arriving in the city, he opened his first pastry shop at number 2 Santiago Street, which was right behind the Palacio de Oriente. This is the reason why Samuel baptized the confectionery as La Oriental.
Samuel and his wife dedicated their entire lives to making La Oriental what it is today: a traditional pastry shop where quality products and craftsmanship are the pillars of their philosophy .
