At the end of the 50s, the producer Samuel Bronston landed in Madrid and Sastrería Cornejo experienced a period of splendor in which it increased its stock of clothing fivefold, thanks to titles such as Pride and Passion, El Cid, Taras Bulba, 55 days in Beijing, Lawrence of Arabia, For a Fistful of Dollars, Doctor Zhivago or Chimes at Midnight, to name a few. Big stars like Charlton Heston, Ava Gadner, Sofia Loren or John Wayne dressed in Cornejo. In the following decades, the international market was consolidated, in addition to the Spanish theater and cinematographic field. Titles such as Nicolás and Alexandra, Dune, The Hussar on the Roof, Vatel, The Dog in the Manger, Shakespeare in Love, The Apple of Your Eyes, Gladiator, Alatriste, Ágora, Elisabeth, The Favorite or While the War Lasts stand out. He has participated in award-winning productions, having to his credit 13 Oscar Awards, 27 Goya Awards, 12 César Awards and 7 BAFTA Awards to date. Today it is Humberto Cornejo de la Cuesta, third generation, who together with his children, Paula and Humberto, continue to run the tailor shop. The headquarters moved in 2001 to a new four-story building on Rufino González street, and has more than 15,000 m2 of facilities, with warehouses on the outskirts of Madrid that house more than 1,000,000 suits, footwear and accessories. all times.
