Nazareth
Nazareth
Four generations dedicated to religious art. Founded in 1888 by Mariano Monge on Calle de Bordadores, where, at the end of the 19th century, there were several candle-making establishments and the sale of religious objects
...In 1908, this business passed into the hands of Juan Manuel García Miranda and, years later, of Josefa Delgado, who in 1917 expanded the premises by adding the adjoining shoe store. The priest Vicente Torres took charge of the business in 1923, and he is the one who registered the name of Nazareth for the establishment, although they were already using that name commercially in the 1910s, as their advertisements in the press at the time attest. After the death of the presbyter, the Corrales family became the owner of the store, the family saga that continues to this day. Currently, Carlos Corrales and his children Elena and Santiago Corrales continue to run the business: the latter represent the fourth generation of the family. Nazaret has completed more than a hundred years in its local Bordadores street dedicated to the candle shop, sale of religious articles, goldsmithing, ornaments, imagery, and all kinds of figures and accessories for the Christmas Nativity scene. They are both manufacturers and restorers, and carry out artisan work that is unusual today such as making cloaks and dresses for virgins, banners for processions, canopies, embroidery, etc. They also make reproductions of oil paintings for paintings or banners.
