The Mercado de Las Águilas was inaugurated, by the then mayor of Madrid Mr. Enrique Tierno Galván, on September 24, 1980, opening its doors on September 25, 1980, being the last of the 46 municipal markets that the city of Madrid.
...In full expansion of the Las Águilas neighborhood (from which it takes its name), the market was in great demand and expected to supply the growing population of its surroundings. Since its inception, the market has had the presence of the Las Águilas neighborhood association at its facilities and together they have seen the neighborhood grow.
The Mercado de Las Aguilas has excellent communication , buses (lines 17, 34, 39, 117, and 138) and nearby the Aluche Interchange (17 intercity buses) and Cercanías.
Throughout these years, several renovations have been carried out, the most significant being those of 2009 (installation of elevators and the remodeling of the façade) and especially those carried out between 2018 and 2021 in which important adaptation, efficiency and energy and services.
In 2020, just before the pandemic (COVID-19), the Las Águilas market went digital, starting online sales and a home delivery service for the benefit of our customers.
Las Águilas Market is committed to self-sustainability and energy efficiency, which is why it has installed a self-consumption solar plant that, together with its improved roof, makes it possible for its energy efficiency certification to include the letter BB, for all this and due to its greatly improved services (4 charging points for electric vehicles), the market is a meeting point and commercial reference point for the neighborhood, with 100% occupancy.
Winter hours: Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Summer hours: Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
