“The sun has set in Madrid”
At number 6 Calle Imperial, very close to the Plaza Mayor, is what was Casa Andión (in his time successor to Deogracias Ortega), a business founded in 1872, as announced by the stone shield on its façade, and currently owned by Lucio J&M. They also advertised their “magnificent hemp ropes and sisal threads”, essential elements for packaging the press sent to the provinces from the capital. Its iron columns, its counter and the eighteenth-century wooden beams provide the establishment with the unmistakable essence of a traditional trade that has been offering a wide range of textile products for more than 140 years: curtains, upholstery, pergolas, tents, fabrics, ropes , bags, and a long etcetera.
But that does not mean that they continue living in the past, since the business has a wide variety of styles that does not stop at the most classic, but advances to avant-garde lines to decorate modern homes, building the future of a company. innovative that will surely continue to exist for many more years.
