...Ramírez Guitars was founded in 1882 by José Ramírez de Galarreta y Planell, a guitar player who began as an apprentice at the age of twelve in the workshop of Francisco González (from the Madrid Guitar School, successor to the former Association of Violeros, Guitar Makers and Instrument Builders). de cuerda of 1761) and at twenty-four he settled in the Rastro together with his brother Manuel whom he trained in the trade. Many musicians have played their guitars from Andrés Segovia, through Agustín Barrios, Víctor Monge "Serranito", Manolo Sanlúcar, Narciso Yepes, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Serrat, Aute... They have received many awards among which we can mention, As an example, the gold medal of the Chicago Guitar Society (1962) or the gold medal for the Exemplary Craftsman of the Obra Sindical de Artesanía de Madrid (1972). This year they have received the 2021 Manuel Babiloni Guitarist Musical Excellence Award.
