José de la Mano Gallery
José de la Mano Gallery
A double line of research is what marks the work of the José de la Mano Gallery in all its exhibition projects since 2005, the year of its inauguration.
...On the one hand, a firm commitment to recovering the memory of many of the artists who used, in Spain and Latin America in the 50s and 60s, geometric abstraction as a modern formula for artistic interpretation or even as a committed political demand. And on the other, an attempt to rediscover the first Spanish conceptual artists who transgressed the art scene of our country in the early 70s with their radical proposals.
This gallery is a pioneer in the vindication of the artists of the Calculation Center as one of the most transcendental artistic episodes of the last years of the Dictatorship, and a large part of its exhibition projects are coming to rescue the relationships between Spanish and Latin American artists of these decades.
