Nativity scene at the San Isidro Museum
Nativity scene at the San Isidro Museum
Christmas approaching the building that keeps important pieces of the history of our city.
...In the circular fountain of the Museum's Renaissance Courtyard, with scenes such as the Annunciation to the Shepherds, the Flight from Egypt, the Adoration of the Kings and, of course, the Birth, this traditional Madrid nativity scene invites all residents and visitors to celebrate
It is a manger made up of Hebrew-style figures - those that, from the interpretation of the 19th century artisan tradition, recreate contemporary images and costumes of Jesus -, many of them made of sticks, that is, unique pieces molded by the craftsman. They all belong to the collection of the famous nativity scene master José Luis Mayo and are characterized by their careful execution in modeling and polychrome. In addition, the care and detail in the recreation of the landscapes stands out, even with a river in which running water flows from a circular circuit.
