SINCE 1903 The Guild of Madrid Fishmongers Founded in April 1903, the Association of Fish and Frozen Products Retailers of the Community of Madrid, known as ADEPESCA, was originally called the "Society of Retail Fish Sellers of Madrid”, created with the function of defending the interests of its associates, the fishmongers guild. From its beginnings it was a very active company, and in the press of the time they frequently commented on its negotiations, whether it was about a strike that would deplete the capital of fish, or about how to transfer the reduction of the Consumption tax to the public. In 1977, by legislative requirement, it became the Association we know today, adapting its Statutes to current regulations. Currently made up of more than a thousand associated establishments, ADEPESCA remains faithful to its mission of representing the interests of the traditional trade in fresh and frozen fish products.
