More than 100 bars and restaurants participate in Tapapiés 2022, which recovers free concerts in the streets of Lavapiés

More than 100 bars and restaurants in Lavapiés participate in the twelfth edition of Tapapiés, from Thursday 20 to Sunday 30 October. Among its novelties, the popular free concerts at street level return to the Madrid neighborhood, after two years without them due to the pandemic. 11 days to taste tapas and world music, also with the participation of the San Fernando and Antón Martín Markets. 100 tapas and 30 concerts

Tapapiés 2022 hosts around thirty concerts, batucadas, parades and outdoor children's entertainment, on weekends from 21 to 23 and from 28 to 30, at noon (1:30 p.m.) and night (8:30 p.m.). "We recovered the essence as a festival of music and theater in the street that made us different," says María Esteban, President of the Lavapiés Merchants Association.

In 2013 Tapapiés was the first event that introduced free musical and theatrical performances in the heart of the historic center of Madrid. This year they are spread over the Arturo Barea, Cascorro, La Corrala and Lavapiés squares, as well as Argumosa and Miguel Servet streets, among others. 80 establishments in the neighborhood and twenty stalls in the San Fernando and Antón Martín markets combine tapas from the five continents. For only €3 each tapa is served accompanied by a bottle or beer from Estrella Damm. The public votes for their favorite tapas from Enlavapies.com, where they also access complete information on each tapa and location. Most offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free versions.

The third winning tapa will be the one that best pairs with Estrella Damm, a beer brewed according to the original 1876 recipe, the result of a combination of barley malt, rice and hops (100% natural ingredients, without additives or preservatives).
