ARGANZUELA FILLS WITH CULTURE IN JUNE: MUSIC, THEATRE, CINEMA AND FAMILY ACTIVITIES FOR ALL TASTES

The Arganzuela district kicks off June with a cultural calendar packed with activities for all audiences. From concerts, exhibitions, and theater to silent films with live piano and multidisciplinary festivals, the neighborhood's cultural centers—Casa del Reloj, the Ángel del Río Integrated Community Center, and the Ouka Leele Intergenerational Center—are becoming the cultural heart of southern Madrid.
Clock House: Gypsy music and memory
The Primavera Exhibition Hall is hosting the exhibition "Spain is Also Gypsy" until June 29th, organized by the Institute of Gypsy Culture. This exhibition commemorates the 600th anniversary of the Gypsy people in Spain through history, art, and flamenco.
The space will also host concerts such as that of Cintia Rosado (June 1) or the festive jazz of Cats Swinging Trio (June 15), as well as theater for adults ( The Penultimate at Home , on June 6) and children ( Arctic Dreamers , on the 7th).
Cinema with history
The "Gil Parrondo: A Life in Film" series concludes on June 18 with Bicycles Are for Summer , which will feature a discussion with director Jaime Chávarri. Meanwhile, the Ángel del Río Endowment Center offers a gem for film buffs: silent films with live piano accompaniment every Thursday of the month.
Music and dance as the closing act of the course
Several festivals and showcases mark the end of the school year for municipal workshops. Highlights include the Arganzuela Choir performance (June 22), the María Dolores Pradera School dance showcase (June 10), and the school festivals that fill the Nave de Terneras and the auditoriums with colorful and talented young people.
Alta Fidelidad Festival: football, literature and music
On June 27 and 28, a new edition of Alta Fidelidad will be held, a festival where football intertwines with literature and music. Talks with authors such as Ennio Sotanaz and Miguel Gutiérrez and live musical performances will turn La Lonja into a meeting point for popular culture.
Sustainable activities and citizen participation
The Ouka Leele Center is committed to community-based initiatives such as the documentary Africa at Cinecleta (June 7), projected through collective pedaling, and the participatory dance project I Will Be Epic or I Won't Be , which will run throughout the month.
