Lovers of good wines, with an exquisite palate, will like to know that, although some historic wineries have closed, many are still active and have managed to adapt and remain open. We venture to explore the authentic ones, the traditional ones.
From the Bodegas Ángel Sierra , founded on November 23, 1917, characteristic for preserving the frescoes painted on the ceiling and its giant wooden vats (and for hosting recognized figures, such as Pedro Almodóvar); the Bodegas Ricla , active since 1867, located in one of the emblematic streets of Madrid de los Austrias, and with exquisite wines, but also meatballs, tripe and a tap vermouth worth savoring; or the Santa Cecilia Winery , centenary and famous for its traditional essence, where thematic tastings and pairing tables of all kinds are organized; to Casa Alberto , about to celebrate two centuries of existence (there must be a reason); the Bodega de los secretos , one of the few cave wineries that still stands after four hundred years; or Bodegas Casas , which just last 2023 became a new member of the centenary wineries of Madrid.
