Vallecas Bridge Market
Vallecas Bridge Market
The Puente de Vallecas market is a lively and practicable market that alternates a complete offer of fresh products with new business formulas. Small shops of a lifetime and a modern supermarket that complements its offer
...Villaconejos melons or pickles, tripe and meatballs or master formulas from a herbalist, a haberdasher or an organic dry cleaner, beef from Ávila or Peruvian dishes. Everything is there, in a one-story building, but with two heights to avoid the slope.
The Puente de Vallecas market is also a piece of local history. Its name evokes the old bridge with the three eyes, which spanned the Abroñigal Stream, and its appearance is dazzling. It was built in 1959, in stone and brick and in substitution of a previous market that disappeared in the flames, and it has some solemn entrances, with a classicist air, finished off in a pediment with two small spheres that adorn the complex.
Uninterrupted hours from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. (some stalls close at noon)
