THE TURULITE
THE TURULITE
The word "Turulita" is the diminutive adjective of the people originally from a place called Tonalá, in the beautiful state of Chiapas, in the south of the Mexican Republic. We will wait for you!
...The Turulos, as they are known, are kind, hard-working, cheerful and noble people, proud of their land and their customs. About a year ago, a turulita (Verónica Tego) moved to Madrid to study a master's degree and as a good lover of tacos, she tried everything, but she always lacked that touch of authenticity in her food, which is why both she and her boyfriend (Daniel Barrio) decided to undertake this gastronomic project that connects her so much with her Mexico and that gives her the opportunity to really show the flavors of her land, the smell of corn from the tortillas, the taste of the hot sauces that made her father and grandmother since she was a child and all those smells and flavors that she keeps in her heart; knowing that it is so far but at the same time so close to those family moments where the first thing everyone wants to have for dinner is TACOS! For any Mexican, a taco is something sacred, it is the perfect plan for a Monday but also for a Saturday and a Thursday, no matter the day of the week, you eat a good taco with the same enthusiasm at dinner time. food and at dinner time, and that is what we look for in “La Turulita”, to offer authentic tacos that make you feel in Mexico, with their onion and coriander, and of course, with the best sauces in all of Madrid. Those who are from Mexico or have ever been, know that in a real taco shop they don't sell thirty different tacos, they know that in one place they sell you carnitas, in one corner you throw the basket ones and in a different one they make the pastor ones that We like them so much, that is why in "La Turulita" we bet on the traditional, the authentic and the true, our pastor, steak and rib tacos, our habanero, serrano and pasilla chile sauces and our warm tortillas, the perfect combination of an authentic taco shop
