Cea Pharmacy
Cea Pharmacy
SINCE 1887 A hundred-year-old concern for professional updating Julio Luis Delgado-Cea opens his first pharmacy in Valladolid, in 1877. He moves to Madrid in 1880, setting up his pharmacy on Calle Preciados, first at number 28 and then at number 26
...When both buildings are demolished, it is moved to number 14, where it remains until today. Both Julio and his son José are pharmacists for the municipal charity. José passed the pharmacy to his nephew, and grandson of the founder, and it is his widow who transferred the pharmacy to its current owner. Don Julio was known for his constant professional updating: he specialized in dry sterilization, antiseptic bandages, and in renting equipment for deliveries and operations at home. He is considered the father of the self-injecting HAYEM serum vial with floating valve. Of the place, with a nineteenth-century flavor, the allegorical painting that adorns its ceiling, restored by the current apothecary, stands out.
