It is not surprising, since this street, formerly known as Calle de las Tenerías (the tannery is where skins are tanned) was the one where the tanners' guild was established in the 15th century. He installed it at number 18 of the street (today 16), where there had already been second-hand clothing stores since at least 1880. In fact, Deltell was already there in 1891, when several buildings in the area burned down, already that his name appears in news related to the event. The initial activity of El Valenciano was that of ropavejero or sale of used clothing, to which it would later add the sale of uniforms and military effects and saddlery. The Deltell family would continue to run the business until the end of the last century, when in 1998 the López family, a long-standing saga of tanners and saddlers started by Pablo López Vergara and lifelong suppliers of El Valenciano, became continuators of the original business. when acquiring the establishment to the last Deltell dedicated to this company. The current owner, Román López, great-great-grandson of the initiator of the saga, is for the moment the last representative of a story that is linked to that of the Deltells. Today they are dedicated to tanning, saddlery, saddlery, footwear and shoe repair items.
