Shoes hanging from the ceiling The shoemaker José Pradillo y Pedraza, from Quintanar de la Orden, is dedicated to the manufacture and sale of footwear in a small store under the name of Calzados La Universal, at number 10 Magdalena street, which was in Cervantes house times. In it, the shoes hung from the ceiling in full view of the customers, who chose them so that the employees took them down with the help of a long stick. They were elegant and quality shoes, for clients with high purchasing power. In the 1930s, Gonzalo Pradillo, the founder's youngest son, began to design and manufacture orthopedic shoes and lasts (some of his models, the GP heel and last, are still on the market today).
