Routes by Madrid

Madrid celebrated the 6th annual Carnival Sardine Route with nearly one hundred participating restaurants, pastry shops, and municipal markets . The initiative, promoted by the Madrid City Council in collaboration with ACYRE Madrid , culminated in the "Carnival Sardines 2026" competition at the Guzmán el Bueno Municipal Market , where prizes were awarded for the best sweet and savory sardine creations. Delegate Engracia Hidalgo highlighted Madrid's gastronomy's ability to blend tradition and innovation around one of the most quintessential symbols of Carnival.
