From 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Caseta 22

Text: Jero García

At 1 p.m. Those attending the event will have the opportunity to meet coach Jero García, who will give participants and attendees a motivational talk. At the end of the presentation, the author will be available to dedicate copies of his novel Cola de Lagartija (Temas de Hoy, 2023) to young readers.

“We are all a little like Cola, the unforgettable protagonist of this story, because we all, at some point in our lives, need help and feel the need to lend a hand to someone. This is the most extraordinary thing: helping another human being. There is nothing nicer than receiving support when you need it. Cola fell many times, but they all managed to get up. And not only to stand, but to continue fighting. That's life. We must learn to fit in more than to dodge, because we are not the blow, but what we do after the blow; We are not the host, but what we do after the host; It is not what happens to us, but what we do with what happens to us. A surprising narrative debut. Jero García's first novel is an extraordinary story about a boy who, despite having everything against him, is able to find his place in the world."

In addition to having the support of the Retiro District Board for the occasion, this CHILDREN'S AND YOUTH LITERATURE FESTIVAL 2024 is part of the #MadridSubelaCuesta action plan that said Association carries out thanks to the support of the Area of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Madrid City Council. The plan foresees the celebration of a series of events to attract new and old audiences to the Cuesta de Moyano, thus contributing to the reactivation of its commercial and cultural activity - after the health crisis that began in 2020 - and in anticipation of the centenary of its location on C/ Claudio Moyano in 2025.

The Association also has the support of the Economy, Innovation and Employment area of the Madrid City Council, with whom it has signed a collaboration agreement for the dissemination of the activities of the aforementioned plan within the framework of the 'Madrid Capital of Fashion' project.
