ADAPTA MADRID PLAN 2024. NEW AID FOR ADAPTATION OF COMMERCIAL PREMISES

- The Madrid City Council allocates 4 million euros to the Adapta Plan
- The aid, whose amount can reach 30,000 euros, can be requested from April 16 to July 15
- The homes of people with sensory disabilities and reduced mobility, as well as those with some type of rare disease, and commercial premises located on the ground floor of residential buildings can benefit from this aid.
- This municipal plan, pioneer in Spain, has already allowed more than 1,700 adaptation actions in the city with a total investment of 17 million euros
The Adapta Plan, a pioneering project by the Madrid City Council in Spain that includes aid for adapting homes to the needs of people with sensory disabilities and reduced mobility, as well as those with some type of rare disease, will allocate a total of four million euros to improve the quality of life and promote the autonomy of these people, with the financing of actions aimed at adapting and eliminating architectural barriers in homes and improving accessibility in commercial premises located in residential buildings.
The aid from the new edition of the Adapta Plan, which in the case of premises can reach up to 100% of the investment with a maximum of 30,000 euros per premises, can be requested from tomorrow, Tuesday, April 16, until next 15 of July.
Eligible investments in premises include;
- Works to adapt the access of the premises such as ramps, stairlifts, lifting platforms, automation for opening doors incorporating motorized mechanisms or other accessibility devices.
- Bathroom adaptation works, including the construction of new specific bathrooms for people with disabilities.
- Horizontal routes, which at least guarantee an accessible pedestrian route between
access to the premises and adapted toilets. - Adaptation of counters, as well as any other adaptation that contributes to improving accessibility for people with disabilities.
- Other actions that contribute to improving the adaptation of the premises to any type of auditory, sensory, intellectual, visual disability, etc., such as magnetic induction loops, acoustic or visual warning devices, etc.
In this fifth edition, in addition to aid for homes and premises, a specific line of aid is contemplated for accessibility works in portals of residential buildings. These actions include, among others, the installation of ramps, 'stairlifts', lifting platforms or motorized automation for opening doors.
