Malasaña is preparing to once again host the largest urban art festival in the capital, Pinta Malasaña, which returns on April 28 to fill the streets of the emblematic Madrid neighborhood with creativity, color and life. With almost a decade of history, this event has become a benchmark for community artistic expression, breaking down borders and uniting artists of various nationalities, generations and social contexts.

For twelve intense hours , more than one hundred artists from different parts of the world will intervene in spaces provided by merchants, associations and neighbors, turning doors, windows and closures of premises into ephemeral canvases that will come to life before the eyes of the public. From traditional styles to the latest trends in urban art, each work will be unique, reflecting the diversity and creative richness of the artistic community.

The festival not only offers a stunning visual experience, but also the opportunity to reward the talent of the participants. A jury made up of prominent art experts will award three cash prizes: €1,200, €600 and €400 respectively, while the public will have the opportunity to choose their favorite work, awarded €300, by voting in two positions enabled for this purpose. during the event.

This year, Pinta Malasaña takes another step in its commitment to diversity and inclusion by opening its doors to artists of all ages and abilities. From young emerging talents to the group of elderly artists Yayas Kusama and the Contodoarte team, made up of creators with intellectual disabilities, everyone has a space to express themselves and share their art with the world.

The festival is sponsored by the international paint company Pebeo and the brewery Mahou, which share the objective of promoting art and urban culture in the daily life of the city. In addition, the event has the support of the Madrid City Council through the Centro Municipal Board, the Vive Malasaña Merchants Association and the Malasaña Hoteliers Association, as well as the Condeduque Cultural Center, which offers free family workshops to learn various decoration techniques.
