MADRID JAZZ PAYS TRIBUTE TO CAFÉ CENTRAL WITH MORE THAN 50 CONCERTS IN NOVEMBER
2025/10/28

Under the slogan "For the music of Café Central," the Madrid en Vivo venues are celebrating a special edition of club-inspired jazz as part of the JazzMadrid 2025 International Festival.

Madrid is gearing up for a November filled with swing, improvisation, and excitement. From November 1st to 30th, the city will host a new edition of JAZZ CON SABOR A CLUB 25 , a series of fifty concerts in 15 venues as part of the JazzMadrid 2025 International Festival , supported by the Department of Culture, Tourism, and Sport of the Madrid City Council .

This year, the event has a particularly nostalgic flavor. Under the slogan "For the music of Café Central," the series pays tribute to the legendary venue in Plaza del Ángel, a world reference point for jazz, which, after more than four decades of operation, will close its doors in the coming months . The extension of its operations until early 2026 will allow the legendary club to actively participate in this edition, reaffirming its role as the soul of Madrid jazz.

A month of jazz in the temples of live music

The program will kick off on Saturday, November 1st with a luxury double event: Raquel Vega Quartet will open the day at El Despertar , while the North American pianist Joshua Edelman will present his project Remembering Barry Harris at the Café Central , which will be repeated on Sunday the 2nd.

The series will continue with prominent names from the national and international scene. On November 6 , the Tablao Torero will blend flamenco and jazz with Pedro Ojesto , Edu Barbero , and Mario Montoya in Chamber Flamenco . The following day, the Rincón del Arte Nuevo will host Sacri Delfino and Baldo Martínez with their Hemisferios project.

On November 14 , Blueperro will return to El Intruso with their signature soul jazz, while Nadia Trobisch Quartet will bring Afro-Peruvian and Creole rhythms to Fulanita de Tal . On Sunday the 16th, Chema Sainz 's guitar will be heard at Maravillas , and Pedro Ojesto Trio will offer a pure jazz concert.

The second half of the month promises strong emotions: on November 21 , the Bruna Sonora Big Band will fill the Moe stage with swing, while at Peor Para el Sol , Enriquito & Paco Soto will offer a night of fusion between jazz and flamenco.

November 22nd will be one of the big days of the cycle, with the Tribute to Bebo Valdés by Cucurucho Valdés , Javier Colina and Moisés Porro at Café Berlín , the Rodrigo Ballesteros Trio at Villanos , and Julia Martín with her mix of soul and R&B at Fotomatón .

Closing out the month, the Jorge Vera Trio will be at El Sótano on November 26th, while Big Mama Ballroom will host the Enric Peidro Quartet with their Tizol's Delicatessen project on the 28th and 29th. The final act will arrive on Saturday the 29th at Tempo Audiophile Club , with the British band The Filthy Six and their powerful fusion of soul, funk and boogaloo.

A tribute to the spirit of jazz

With this program, Madrid en Vivo reaffirms its commitment to live music and the spirit of clubs, those spaces where jazz maintains its most authentic essence. "Jazz tastes like a club, and Madrid sounds like jazz," the organizers emphasize, in a year marked by the emotional tribute to Café Central.
