FOURTH EDITION OF THE "FESTIVAL DOMINGO 2024" IN LA CASA ENCENDIDA

The Casa Encendida of Fundación Montemadrid is preparing to host, from May 28 to June 8 , the fourth edition of Domingo 2024 , the performing arts festival that, focused on the performativity of the body, opens the field of performing arts to art sound, cinema, philosophy and visual arts. Under the curatorship of Fernando Gandasegui, this event presents a varied program that includes works, conferences and films by artists from various geographies and languages.

The festival will be inaugurated by Candela Capitán with her new piece "CELDAS SONORAS", a fusion of control instruments such as algorithms, cowbells, slow living and screen hypnotism. In the first week, Colombian choreographer and dancer Luisa Fernanda Alfonso will debut in Spain with "Masterpiece", a work that explores the excesses of mariachi and character dance, altering Latin American traditions in a tumult of associations.

The series of conferences includes the participation of the Chilean philosopher Andrea Soto Calderón with "Image scene", where the capacity of images to interrupt the established order and liberate the collective imagination will be discussed. Marta Azparren and Óscar Villegas will present "I am the strange body that looks: diagrams of contemporary hell", a spoken cinema session with live music that reflects on the imprint of the factory gesture on artistic practice, inspired by Roberto Rossellini and Simone Weil.

Among the featured performances, Amaia Urra will premiere "Pulfiki pulkiki", a recital of songs composed at midnight inspired by everyday acts, and the Portuguese choreographer Marga Alfeirão will present "BIGGIE DRIFT", a piece that wanders around the hypermasculinity of the rapper The Notorious BIG

The second week of the festival will feature the presentation of "HET LAM GODS. First part: La Pastora . Idilio" by Victoria Aime , a unique work of avant-garde theater. In addition, the Italian choreographer Annamaria Ajmone will debut in Spain with "Senza Titolo", a site-specific choreography influenced by space and the public, and the Brazilian Josefa Pereira with "Hidebehind", a trip in reverse that explores other logics outside the system .

The visual artist Estanis Comella will premiere in Madrid the performance "SXT – Courtyard Rosebush", where writing, choreography and musical production come together in fading atmospheres.

The festival will conclude with the absolute premiere of "Fuje" by Sara Pérsico , an Italian sound artist, vocalist and DJ , who through noises, sound extracts and extended vocal techniques, connects the heritage of Neapolitan tradition with radical experimentation .
