Located halfway between Puerta del Sol and the Barrio de las Letras, this flamenco tablao on Calle de la Cruz hides in its basement a brick-lined vaulted cave where you can enjoy a flamenco show without artifice, in which the Respect for this art, privacy and complicity between its artists are its hallmarks.
The venue that Torero occupies measures 500 m2, has a total capacity for 197 people and is divided into two floors. On the floor at street level there is a bar - cafeteria with some tables and chairs and a small stage where you can enjoy short flamenco performances, lasting about 20 minutes, as well as a room for exhibitions and specific events. , with capacity for 50 people. Going down a carpeted staircase, you access the bricked basement where a room for classes and rehearsals and the main stage are housed, with a capacity for 70 spectators seated in a semicircle, where the show Essential Flamenco takes place, whose artistic director is Juan “el Mistela”, National Flamenco Critic Award.
No meals are served at Torero, as happens in other tablaos, so as not to interfere with the creative silence that artists need. Being a small space, microphones or speakers are not needed, the sound of clean instruments and voices reaching the public.
The room, which can be fully or partially rented for all types of events, has all the anti-Covid prevention measures, including a forced ventilation system.
