The Residencia de Estudiantes de Madrid is a center founded in 1910 by the Board for the Extension of Studies, a direct product of the innovative ideas that the Krausist Francisco Giner de los Ríos had initiated in Spain with the founding of the Institución Libre de Enseñanza in 1876.
