Corpus Christi Monastery
The Convent of Las Carboneras was founded in 1607 by Beatriz Ramírez de Mendoza, Countess of Castelar, for the Jerónimas nuns of Corpus Christi. Its name comes from an image of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception, found in a coal mine and donated to the convent
