Numancia Municipal Market
Numancia Municipal Market
The construction of the Numancia Market began in 1982 in what was once a donkey slaughterhouse, and it did not open its doors to the public until 1984
...In the decade of freedom in Madrid, in the midst of the Movida Madrileña, the market began to establish itself as a reference point in the neighbourhood for buying essential supplies.
It is worth remembering that it was one of the last municipal markets to be built in Madrid , and although it was initially a modern space for its time, over the years it became inaccessible to some people. For this reason, in 2003 the market was renovated, and it currently has five floors with facilities for people with reduced accessibility. On the lower floors there is a parking lot for subscribers and the market warehouses, on the ground floor there are all the food, catering and service stalls. On the next floor there is a large bazaar and on the upper floor there is an exclusive parking lot for customers.
Today, the market has a friendly and lively atmosphere, and this is possible thanks to the support of the local residents. The modernization of the market is reflected in the increase in its visibility on the Internet and social networks , as well as in the inclusion of new food stalls that contribute to creating a young, familiar and avant-garde market.
