Municipal Market of Alto de Extremadura
Municipal Market of Alto de Extremadura
The Alto de Extremadura market, also known as the Jesuits market, opened its doors for the first time in June 1947 and was renovated in 2011, combining the traditional offer of fresh products, varieties and groceries in specialized stalls with the service of a medium-sized supermarket on its first floor.
After 37 years of activity, it was reopened to offer its customers the quality, service and know-how of its typical shops in a traditional market, but in a renovated space. Among its 32 stalls you can find different preparations and sausages in meat and chicken, regional and Iberian cured meats, cut and juiced fruits, exotic meats, legumes and pickles in bulk direct from the producer, foreign products, meats with denomination of origin, going through everything type of poultry, eggs, game, milk and derivatives, cheeses, bakery and confectionery products and you can fix your shoes and duplicate your keys all while having a coffee in our cafeteria. Today, only in a traditional market like Alto de Extremadura can you buy better, save, eat healthier, learn and feel loved by being close to lifelong professionals.
Seniority and trust -local trade- are a constant here, which crystallizes during the weekends in tastings of authentic market cuisine: country paella, Madrid-style tripe, potato omelette, cheeses, etc...
