Quarry mark of the Cruz de Calatrava
On the way to Cibeles, there is another granite slab on which the Calatrava Cross is carved. This slab is located in front of one of the doors of the Church of Las Calatravas, at Alcalá 25.
...The Calatrava Cross is a symbol that has its roots in the medieval history of the Order of Calatrava, a Christian military order founded in the 12th century in the Kingdom of Castile. This order had its main headquarters in Calatrava la Vieja, a fortress located in the current province of Ciudad Real, Spain.
