Former gathering place, a meeting place for artists and politicians in the 19th and 20th centuries, it is known above all for having been frequented by the writer Benito Pérez Galdós, who was a regular customer and set his first novel in this place, also called " The Golden Fountain" (published in 1870).

Its decoration is very striking, full of bottles, photos, portraits of illustrious people of yesteryear, old books, lampposts, statues... and even a motorcycle hanging from the ceiling. The ground floor has a medieval touch, decorated with shields, weapons and even armor.
