SINCE 1886 Suppliers of cutlery, crockery,... to the Royal House Pedro Durán y Muñoz began his professional career in Madrid at the "Los Meneses" silversmith's. His first commission was a carved chair for the Marqués de Castrillo
...After traveling to Paris, he decides to set up, together with his partner Carlos Muñoz, a silverware and chiseling workshop on Calle de Alfonso XII. Pedro Durán separated from his partner in 1891, beginning his solo career. In 1899 he became a Provider for the Royal House, to which he would provide cutlery, crockery, stationery and much more. His son Pedro marries Susana Bailly-Bailliere from the prestigious publishing house that bore his last name. During the Spanish Civil War, up to 900 kilos of silver were seized and the workshop was used to manufacture horseshoe nails and bullet rods. The fourth generation of the family currently works at this firm.
