Freijo Gallery
Freijo Gallery
Freijo Gallery was born in 2010, as a project focused on working with artists of different generations, of Spanish and Latin American origin, whose work has been characterized throughout the history of modern and contemporary art by experimentation, formal rigor and aesthetic, and by relevant and critical conceptual proposals.
In addition to representing mid-career artists, and with the intention of underscoring the importance of intergenerational links in a dynamic and active way, we work with holdings: work by historical artists that has been acquired and often produced by the gallery since its inception.
Since 2019, we have developed the LZ46 program, focused on experimental curatorial projects, with the aim of exploring different ways of approaching exhibition practices as a gallery, as well as new ways of establishing relationships with curators, artists and collectors. In parallel with the exhibitions, Galería Freijo carries out editorial activity derived from research, in-depth study and dialogue with the artists. Today, the gallery has a space within its facilities specifically designated to house the library and which constitutes a research and documentation center open to the public.
We complement our activities through meeting presentations, seminars, film programs, talks and conferences.
