One hundred by one hundred
One hundred by one hundred
More than a name, a sign of identity. and so it did. He associated his name with music and in a perfect communion, from that moment on that would be a venue for “Cien Per Cien música española”
...We were in 1985 when this place opened its doors to the public for the first time, we are not clear about the origin of the name, nor what it meant then, but in 1990, the One Hundred for One Hundred changed owners, its new captain not only did not change his name, but thought that the best thing was to give it a meaning... Perhaps it was a difficult time to bet on it, given the rise of acid-house or bakalao, in addition to the fact that at that time there were no places where only Spanish music was heard, however the bet turned out to be a "winning horse" and the local began to become fashionable, beginning to be on everyone's lips. Those who visited El Cien did not do it just to have a drink, they also wanted to listen to Spanish music: the mythical groups of the “movida madrileña” and the purest pop-rock style… Spanish.
30 years later, the Hundred continues to be a benchmark in Madrid nightlife. Now you listen to music from before, from now and indie music. It has not lost its essence and it may be that its success lies in that essence. In which one day it was a musical bet and today it is a hallmark.
