Hernanz House

SINCE 1840

Espadrilles, cordage, basketry, nets, rustic fabric,…

...

The Casa Hernanz store has been selling Castañer espadrilles for more than a century and a half. This fashion arrived in the 60s at the hands of Yves Saint Laurent who took them to half the world's catwalks, becoming the shoes worn by well-known characters such as Jacqueline Kennedy or Marilyn Monroe. As a consequence, Casa Hernanz fills its store with hundreds of customers every day, selling some 100,000 pairs a year. His store is the only one in Madrid that sells hand-sewn espadrilles in 32 colors and almost 30 numbers, for just over four euros. The store has begun to be known worldwide, to the point that even the New York Times has talked about it.
