“The best shoe store that exists in Madrid is the so renowned Ferrocarril” Calzados El Ferrocarril was born in 1882 in Madrid de los Austrias, on Calle de la Magdalena, with the vocation of becoming the number one establishment dedicated to the sale of comfortable footwear: already in the press of 1884 they were advertised without complexes with the slogan “The best shoe store that exists in Madrid is the so renowned Ferrocarril. In the forties, his son Miguel García took over and ran the store. In 1950, Ángel García, son of the former, took over the business. At present it is the fourth generation of the family, in the person of Alberto Bardo García, who is in charge of the establishment, and at its usual location on Magdalena street they have added two more. They say that, in the beginning, their activity was entirely handmade: they made and adapted the shoes to each client taking their needs into account. In addition to offering the best brands on the market and being pioneers in online sales, they also sell shoe models that cannot be found in traditional shoe stores or orthopedics, and which they call therapeutic footwear, specialized in solving foot problems for their customers.
