Madrid Surf Film Festival

After a year of hiatus due to the health crisis, one of the favorite appointments for lovers of the sea and the many surf fans who inhabit the capital returns to Madrid. Talks, exhibitions and an interesting lineup of thematic films make up the program of the 5th edition of the Madrid Surf Film Festival, which this time will be held in the traditional neighborhood of La Latina.

It will be from December 9 to 11 at Espacio Rastro Madrid, a large and innovative multipurpose space, perfect for enjoying the more than 20 surf and environmental documentary films on the program. Among them, titles such as Iballa Corazón de Escamas stand out, a biographical documentary told in the first person by the great Iballa Ruano Moreno, winner of the PWA Windsurfing and SUP World Cups of APP World Tour in 2018; the feature film Legacy , about how the surf industry has changed, told in the first person by living legends of the sport; the documentary Shame , in which the professional surfer Garazi Sanchez changes the board for the camera to denounce the terrible state of our oceans; Australian surfer Fraser Dovell's intimate trip to the Arctic in A Corner of the Earth ; or Gallo , the documentary feature film about the blind surfer Aitor Francesena, World Champion of Adaptive Surfing.

The event, which is sponsored by Reef, Turismo del Cabildo de Tenerife, Turismo del Ayuntamiento de Gijón, Yow Surf Skate and Citywave Madrid, will bring together directors, prominent athletes such as Kepa Acero, Garazi Sanchez or Lucia Martiño, industry professionals of surfing and fans. And it will do so around an interesting program of activities that includes discussions and a spectacular photographic exhibition with the creations of great surf artists such as Jon Bakio, Chechu Pajares, Xue Gil, Ginés Díaz, Mauro Ladu or Adrian Rodd, among others.

The sale of tickets to attend the screenings and the rest of the activities will be available soon at www.madridsurffilmfestival.com , at the price of 8 euros per session, where you will also be able to consult the program shortly, as well as on their Instagram profile @madridsurffilmfestival and Facebook.
