VICALVARO WELCOMES SUMMER WITH A CULTURAL AGENDA FOR ALL AUDIENCES

The Vicálvaro district kicks off the summer with a full program of cultural, festive, and sports activities that will take place from June to October under the slogan "Summer in Vicálvaro 2025." This diverse and free program is designed to bring culture and leisure activities to all neighborhoods and residents of the district.

Councilman Ángel Ramos presented the program at the Fuente de San Pedro Cultural Center in Valderrivas, highlighting the goal of "making summer in Vicálvaro an opportunity to enjoy, socialize, and feel proud of our district."

Festivals, traditions and major events

Among the main events of this summer are the Popular Festivals of Vicálvaro (from June 26 to 29) , the Patron Saint Festivals in honor of Santa María la Antigua (August 14 and 15) , and long-awaited celebrations such as the traditional Bonfire of San Juan (June 23) , which will welcome the summer with music, fire and community.

Established events such as European Mobility Week (September 20 and 21, in El Cañaveral and Gran Vía del Este) and the Craft Beer Fair, from October 2 to 5 , at the fairgrounds, will also return.

Music, cinema and outdoor shows

Culture will be experienced in squares and parks with musical, theatrical, and children's activities. In July and August, there will be summer cinema at El Cañaveral and the Fairgrounds, and two of the most anticipated events are returning: the " Vicálvaro Nights ," with flamenco, pop, rock, rumba, and R&B concerts in the Valdebernardo Forest Park, and the " Folkie Nights ," with roots music in the courtyard of the Fuente de San Pedro Cultural Center.

In addition, Don Antonio de Andrés Square , Cooperativists Square , Vicalvarada Park , and El Cañaveral Linear Garden will host concerts, family activities, and shows for all audiences.

Sport and coexistence

Summer will also be filled with physical activity with notable events such as the 2nd “Madrid Corre por Vicálvaro” Popular Race , the San Juan Chess Tournament , and the “In-Gravity” International Speed Skating Marathon , which will run through the El Cañaveral Industrial Park.
