Verse and music to listen to great female authors: “Eight poems, eight women”
2026/03/17
Eight Poems, Eight Women is a recital that combines poetry and live music through a selection of texts by renowned female authors, performed by María Pastor (recited and sung) alongside Iván Sangüesa (piano and vocals). The event will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., at the El Torito Cultural Center (Moratalaz), located at Avenida de Moratalaz, 130 (Vinateros neighborhood).
The performance takes the audience on a journey through different eras with poems, musical pieces, and references to the artistic and social context of each period, also incorporating anecdotes and songs related to that era. The introductory text frames it as an invitation to reflect on the usefulness of poetry, its meaning, and the legacy of female authors who have “never received the recognition they deserve.” The show is recommended for ages 12 and up.
In practical terms, the performance lasts approximately 65 minutes and admission is free, with entry on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets begin to be distributed one hour before the start (with a maximum of two per person). The venue is wheelchair accessible, and for more information, the center's phone number is 913 287 385.
