A LARGE CANVAS CREATED BY MIGUEL ÁNGEL TORNERO WILL COVER THE CRYSTAL PALACE DURING ITS RESTORATION

During the first year of restoration of the Crystal Palace , a spectacular artistic canvas designed by the photographer and artist Miguel Ángel Tornero will become the protagonist of the landscape of El Retiro Park.

Under the title “ Gran Friso ”, Miguel Ángel Tornero combines photographs inspired by the city of Madrid, creating a unique composition that covers the entire building. This artistic intervention aims to help citizens reconnect with the capital and rediscover everyday, familiar and familiar places.

The canvas, which in addition to protecting the palace functions as a work of art, has been printed using sustainable HP Latex technology, in collaboration with the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía . This innovative project combines creativity and sustainability, highlighting the museum's commitment to contemporary art and care for the environment.

The director of the Reina Sofía Museum, Manuel Segade , will present this initiative next Thursday, January 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Florida Park , located on Paseo de Panamá in El Retiro Park. After the presentation, attendees will be able to enjoy a guided tour of the exterior of the Crystal Palace to see up close this monumental canvas that will transform the building during the works.
